Fishing regulations change frequently — sometimes mid-season — through emergency orders, quota updates, species-protection closures, and area-specific restrictions. The information displayed in FishRadar:

  • May be out of date since the last review date shown.
  • May be incomplete — many jurisdictions have area-specific, gear-specific, or species-specific sub-rules not captured here.
  • May contain errors despite our best efforts to source from official agency documents.

Crowdsourced and AI-Assisted Data

Some regulations may have been initially sourced or translated with the assistance of automated tools (including large language models). All such entries are reviewed by human editors before publication and carry a verifiedBy status. Entries marked "pending-human-review" have not yet been confirmed by a licensed fisheries expert or legal professional.

Updates

We aim to review each jurisdiction at least every 6 months. The Last Verified date shown in the app is the date of our most recent review — not necessarily the date the regulation was enacted or last changed by the authority.

This disclaimer is displayed in the app whenever regulations data is shown. It applies to all jurisdictions covered by FishRadar.
